Is it appropriate to be hyper correct?

People want to prove they are correct and don't care the others. They may get them proved, but let the others hurt .

Is it appropriate to be hyper-correct - for example, to insist their technical beliefs? What do they get even they win ?

A persons true beliefs, are always correct, to them.....but thinking is fluid. No one should be hurt unless it affects a behavior the person has to tolerate.

Thinking and believing are different matters. Mostly people are thinking things but not truly believing, which leaves an opening for persuasion.

I've been trying to practice a technique to just ask questions to people to let them describe how they came up with their belief... instead of trying to convince them that they are wrong (aka incorrect). This is sometimes useful for cases when people can answer the question differently if they can start with their fundamental beliefs.
